Valvoline
2009 Street Machine of the Year

WHICH Street Machine feature car deserves to be crowned Valvoline Street Machine of the Year and take home the $15,000 cash prize? You decide!

The Valvoline Street Machine of the Year has come of age with this, the 21st annual competition to determine Australia's best modified car. SMOTY is the country's richest and most prestigious award for car building, with $15,000 awarded to the winner, who also gets his or her name engraved on Australia's most famous trophy.

The competition is proudly sponsored by Valvoline, one of the world's iconic oil brands and long-time sponsors of V8 Supercars, speedway, drag racing and NASCAR. Valvoline has been supplying quality lubricants in Australia since the very dawn of motoring. Valvoline products are made in Australia and include a large range of synthetic and mineral-based oils - including oils developed especially for older cars like ours - as well as other automotive fluids.

The winner will be the finalist who scores the highest number of votes from the readership of Street Machine magazine. No other vote counts, no-one else gets a say, it's entirely up to you good people to determine which car will be the 2009 Valvoline Street Machine of the Year.

How it works:

THE staff of Street Machine review all feature cars from October 2008 to September 2009, and  determine the 16 finalists. To make the cut, cars must be primarily built in Australia. Other than that, any style of car is eligible and this is reflected in the broad range of cars on offer. You like customs? Then vote for one. Tuff streeters? Show cars? Drag cars? Cruisers? They're all there and every vote has equal value.

What you win:

ONE lucky voter will be selected at random to win a trip for two to Street MachineSummernats 23 in January 2010. The prize includes airfares to Canberra (from your nearest capital city), accommodation in a flash Canberra hotel, two Summernats Gold passes, entry to Street Machine's exclusive SMOTY party and a bag full of cool Street Machine gear.
